Not legal advice. This policy has been drafted using conservative professional language intended to align with applicable California privacy law, but no representation is made that it satisfies every applicable law. Media City Design should have it reviewed by qualified California legal counsel.
This Privacy Policy describes how Media City Design & Consulting ("Media City Design," "we," "us," or "our"), a California business located at 200 W Magnolia Blvd, Burbank, CA 91502, collects, uses, and shares information when you visit mediacitydesign.com (the "Site"), contact us, request a quote, apply to our affiliate program, or use our services.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide. When you fill out a contact, quote, calculator, newsletter, or affiliate application form, or engage us for services, we collect what you submit — typically your name, email address, phone number, business name, website, and the details of your request. If you become a client, we also collect billing details needed to invoice you.
Payment information. Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card or bank account details are entered directly with Stripe and are not stored on our servers. We receive only what is needed to reconcile your invoice (for example, the last four digits of a card, the payment amount, and its status).
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, we may collect standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed, and referring URL, using cookies and similar technologies. See Section 4.
2. How We Use Information
- To respond to your inquiries and provide quotes, proposals, and services;
- To create and send invoices, process payments, and maintain accounting records;
- To administer the affiliate program, including attributing referrals and paying commissions;
- To send you information you have requested, such as a newsletter, and to send service-related notices;
- To operate, secure, and improve the Site and our services;
- To comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations and to enforce our agreements.
3. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us operate our business and who are bound to use it solely for that purpose — for example, payment processing (Stripe), website hosting and infrastructure, email delivery, analytics, and scheduling tools. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
4. Cookies and Analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep the Site working (for example, to remember a form step or keep an authenticated session) and, where enabled, to understand how visitors use the Site through analytics tools such as Google Analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may affect parts of the Site.
5. Your California Privacy Rights
If you are a California resident, you may have the right under the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act) to request access to the personal information we hold about you, to request its correction or deletion, and to receive information about how it is used and shared. We do not sell or "share" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details in Section 10. We will not discriminate against you for exercising them.
6. Data Retention
We keep personal information for as long as needed to fulfil the purposes described in this policy, including to satisfy legal, tax, and accounting requirements. Invoicing and payment records are retained for the period required by applicable law, after which they are deleted or anonymized.
7. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access controls on our internal systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children
The Site and our services are intended for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent version. Material changes will be posted on this page; continued use of the Site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
